Match Maker is a selection of matched images -- mostly pairs -- by art director and photographer Alison Garnett. Alison says of her project that

Every diptych creates a memory. Not a history, or an archive but an imaginary narrative, that when combined with the nostalgic quality of Time Zero film – the soft focus and cyan tones – it creates a time and a place and a story that feels real and familiar. My sets are rarely created with a diptych in mind. Rather, it is more of an after thought, a game of match, with a little imagination thrown into the mix. It is a word, a shape and sometimes a religious icon, that bond the two together, hence adding a new level of creative storytelling to the pair. Despite the demise of Time Zero in 2006, as my supply of film diminishes, my love for instant pictures grows ever stronger.

We hope you enjoy her rich and varied work, and think you will agree that in addition to a sharp eye for color, composition, and theme, Alison has a total grasp of one the most important skills in the photography: editing.
