Friday Night Fights NYC is a selection of black and white photographs by photographer Alison Grippo from her documentary project about amateur and professional boxing in New York City. This long-term documentary project, soon to be a book, follows both amateur and recently turned pro boxers in New York City who gather almost every month in St. Paul's Church on 59th Street. Alison says of her project that
Every fighter has a story, from finding God to emigrating to the United States and I am trying to find them all. Each boxer, each sportsman, trains for something bigger than themselves, for the opportunity to create a legacy - to be remembered. I am honored to participate in that dream.
