XYZ - Tales for an Accelerated Culture is a selection of diptych photographs by photographer Patrick Strattner. Using the 1991 Douglas Coupland novel Generation X - Tales for an Accelerated Culture as his inspiration, Patrick travelled to the Palm Springs area for two months to take stock, and photograph the next generation of youth living in Palm Springs. Patrick writes that
In my exploration of Gen-xers, who have now grown into adulthood, and its younger sibling, Generation Y, I witnessed and documented both the desolation often associated with a displaced people as well as the hope only the recently freed can truly posess.
We hope you will enjoy this excerpt from this facinating and well-executed project.
