Love it or hate it, there is one thing that is certain about the annual Burning Man festival: it offers many opportunities for unexpected photography. Burning Man is a selection of images from this festival by photographer Scott London. Scott says of the project:

What I love about Burning Man is that it encourages people to give expression to their wildest dreams, their most whimsical ideas, their grandest - and often grandiose - artistic impulses. Burning Man embraces it all, saying, in effect, there is a place, right here in the middle of nowhere, where you can be whatever you want to be. The only condition is that you do it in the spirit of community and good fun.

The atmosphere of crazy unabashed creativity is like nothing I've seen anywhere else. The fact that it happens to take place in one of the starkest and most beautiful landscapes on earth only adds to the ambience of the event, lending it a surreal and sometimes otherworldly quality that has been, for me at least, a photographer's dream.

This collection of images was shot with Canon digital SLRs at Burning Man 2004, 2005, and 2006.

NOTE: There is eccentric nudity in this project that may not be suitable for children, work, or the easily offended.
