Swimming Pools is a selection of photos of swimming pools by Sharyn Jones, a commercial photographer based in Wellington, New Zealand. As she explains:
My summers as a child were spent at the outdoor swimming pool. I remember the feel of my wet togs sticking to the hot rough concrete steps; the sound the water made as it splashed over the pool edges; the sting the chlorine gave my eyes and the smell it left embedded in my skin. I would sit and watch as the pool emptied of swimmers and the water leveled and returned to a smooth surface. The outdoor pool for me is a place of escapism, imagination and rejuvenation. My photography of outdoor swimming pools is a documentary of this memory.
