Lost America is an incredible selection of night photography taken by Troy Paiva, a photographer and web designer living in the San Francisco Bay area. Several trips to the desert as a child opened Troy's eyes to the spectacular vastness of the American Southwest, and after sitting in on classes in night photography, he found techniques that were perfect for capturing the atmosphere and mystery of modern ghost towns. These photographs are NOT digitally enhanced nor are there any darkroom tricks involved; all the lighting was done in camera, on location using a variety of strobe flashes, flashlights and colored theatrical gels.
