Cowscapes is a gallery by photographer Rachael Sudlow, who was born and raised in Kansas, where she photographed these images using a medium format Hasselblad. She is heavily influenced by her grandfather, painter Robert Sudlow, who gains inspiration from the land and animals that inhabit the prairie. Her work in photography has delved into this interest, even when studying photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. We think these images provide a unique perspective on what is an ostensibly mundane subject.
