Coloured Smoke is by Graham Jeffery. His technique in creating the images presented here is to take the smoke from joss (incense) sticks, light it from the side or back, and photograph it -- using a studio flash to get enough light to freeze the smoke -- against a black background. He then uses Photoshop to manipulate the background and colors, resulting in images that are both subtle and striking.
