2:1 is by Michael Rutchik, a Los Angeles designer and photographer. This project orignated as an attempt to see Los Angeles in widescreen format, though it quickly turned into a project he describes as "cropping to a format." The results he calls "serviceable compositions", but we think that they are more extraordinary than serviceable, and know you will agree. More of his work can be seen on his website.
